Regional Director of Construction

Raising Cane's

This is a Full-time position in Plano, TX posted April 11, 2021.

The Regional Director of Construction role leads a Regional Construction Team consisting of multiple managers, multiple coordinators and a diverse group of external resources.

This team oversees all Company Restaurant construction related activities/projects and ensures that all Restaurants are constructed in accordance with the approved construction drawings and brand expectations.

The Regional Director is responsible for applying effective management techniques to the planning, design and construction phases of a new Restaurant project from inception to completion for the purpose of controlling cost, time & quality.

The Regional Director is expected to be disciplined and to create/utilize management and technology systems to promote the successful execution and completion of all capital projects and to promote effective coordination and communication between the Restaurant NRO Team, Restaurant Operations, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain and the Development Team.+ Resource Strategy, Planning & Communication:+ Applies effective techniques and analysis to provide needed resources inside and outside the Company+ Coaches and sets clear expectations of success for all Crew and external resources+ Holds everyone accountable to Cane’s expectations+ Manages the details including schedules, forecasts, cost controls and Turnover Quality+ Understands and fully supports Restaurant success and Restaurant Operations+ Applies effective techniques to develop and maintain the highest level of communication with all parties+ Delivers results by finding solutions regardless of the circumstances+ Understands, values and supports the critical execution of the Development Turnover Process+ Pre-Construction Phase:+ Drives all resources to deliver needs that support Restaurant schedule, cost and quality expectations+ Reviews project specific documents & contracts to fully comprehend project requirements and details+ Works with Real Estate, Design and Property Development Teams to determine project specific scope+ Oversees development of construction project estimates/budgets+ Responsible for development of proposed Master Schedules (including milestone events)+ Responsible for developing and initiating communication protocols+ Manages Construction Document Review & Approval + Conducts constructability reviews (coordination with design professionals)+ Oversees bid review/qualification and final contract preparation/recommendation+ Construction Phase:+ Monitor all General Contractors’ construction performance and accountability + Conducts annual Performance Reviews with all GC’s and major vendors+ Ensures that Crew visit Restaurants under construction at specific milestone events to confirm compliance with schedule & quality expectations+ Implements Quality Control measures, tactics and training that align with result expectations+ Develops and maintains Construction and Equipment Vendor Relationships+ Reviews and recommends approval of General Contractor pay applications+ Monitors successful and timely completion of “punch list” work for all Restaurants+ Oversees successful completion of Restaurant “Turn-Over” to New Restaurant Opening Team + Post-Construction Phase:+ Applies effective data analysis to provide timely assessment of results including targeting, recommending and implementing opportunities for improvement+ Obtains feedback from the NRO Team and Restaurant Operations to improve future growth+ Does not allow opportunities to be lost and drives needed changes as needed to support future success+ General:+ Develops & maintains effective Team communication, reporting and feedback channels to drive results and execute upon opportunities+ Maintains a flexible & dynamic approach that expects and embraces changes in the business environment and the willingness to meet needed challenges that result from change + Prepares and maintains all Pipeline & Construction Status Reports + Provides and Delivers Against capital, duration, quality and G Goals+ Collaborates & coordinates with the Design Team to initiate necessary plan modifications and change management initiatives+ Initiates and executes a long-term Value Engineering Program + Investigates & recommends cost saving alternatives to construction materials & methods+ Collaborates with New Restaurant Opening and Regional Operations teams to Develop Feedback Channels+ Conducts weekly status update meetings with Construction Team and Contractors/Vendors+ Dallas area based (will work out of Dallas Restaurant Support Office located in Plano, TX)+ 25% Travel (sometimes more depending on construction activities)+ Microsoft Proficient with a focus on Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint+ 10+ years Restaurant Construction related experience+ 5+ years of Construction Team Member management experience+ Superior Project and People Management skills+ Display’s superior analytical and communication skills (written & verbal)+ Has excellent interpersonal skills+ Positive “can do” approach+ Is professional in manner+ Pays close attention to details+ Able to prioritize duties & tasks with a sense of urgency+ Deadline oriented and completes tasks, assignments or projects in a timely manner+ Bachelor’s degree in related field required (Construction, Architecture or Engineering) with advance degree a plus+ Aligned with Raising Cane’s cultureConnect With Us!Not ready to apply?
