Business Analyst, Resident Utilities Management

ABOUT THE TEAM

The position is within our Utility Management team to work as a business analyst and SME for the VES Resident Billing application.  Utility management is a product that concentrates on the billing back to residents the utilities incurred by our clients to match with legal and business needs.  The candidate would be a part of a 12 person team which supports our engineering efforts for utility management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for determining the business needs, documenting those needs and working with our engineering partners to clarify and guide as we work to improve our product offering.  This position specifically will be working on the VES platform concentrating on the Resident Billing side of our system. This position will report to the Product Manager.  The candidate will be responsible for writing clear acceptance criteria and work as a go between with our developers, account management, implementation and operational teams.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create/document business requirements and present them as clear acceptance criteria for our developers to work from.
  • Interview/document requirements from our operations/implementations/account management teams, as well as researching how the system works now to be able to compare/contrast with both business needs, client needs or legal changes.
  • The candidate would participate in backlog grooming, scrum planning, release documentation & training. 
  • The position will require working both with our local team, our teams in other US locations as well as our teams in both India and the Philippines.
  • There will be small projects that we will expect the candidate to take lead on.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, quality analyst or similar in a technical environment
  • Having a client-focused, product mindset
  • Data analysis experience and understanding of structured databases, SQL, and MS Excel
  • Good problem solving skills, Critical Thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills including strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to clearly bring together and document software requirements
  • Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops (TFS) or similar technologies.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with multi-family resident billing, invoice processing, basic accounting principles, and/or VES software a plus
  • Experience working with global teams preferred
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies preferred
  • Basic project management preferred
